Blues School for Kids - July 30
Blues School for Kids, a songwriting and performing workshop for kids of all ages, will again be held at the Mini-Park on Court Street in downtown Pomeroy. A free harmonica and a free lunch will be provided for participating kids 12 and under.
Ron Sowell (Music Director for PBS's Mountain Stage, Performing Songwriter) and Todd Burge (Full Time Performing Country Folk Songwriter from WV) will host the two session workshop. During the first session, Sowell and Burge will write a Blues song with the kids in addition to discussing the basic structure of the twelve bar blues and some tips on playing harmonica. After Lunch, the second session will culminate with the kids performing their new song on the Main Stage at the Big Bend Blues Bash.
